Almost Friday!
Almost Friday is a monthly social cooking club where fifteen strangers come together to cook, experiment, and share a meal inspired by a new cuisine or concept each month. Guests sign up through a first-come, first-served system and receive curated hints about the menu before the event. Guided by a guest chef, participants cook collaboratively in small groups, customise dishes, and turn the evening into a shared dining experience rather than a traditional cooking class.

Insight
People are surrounded by constant interaction, yet meaningful connections feel increasingly rare. Shared experiences that require collaboration create stronger bonds than passive socialising, and cooking naturally encourages conversation, teamwork, and vulnerability.
Thought Process
Inspired by Butter by Asako Yuzuki, the project explores food as a medium for intimacy and connection rather than simple consumption. Instead of building another supper club centred around dining, the concept shifts the focus toward strangers collectively cooking, experimenting, and creating a meal together.
Solution
